I am a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s pensions advisory team with over 10 years’ experience in the pensions industry. Throughout my career, I have always tried to embrace new (sometimes quite random) opportunities and as a result found myself helping both corporates and trustees with projects that cross all aspects of the DB pension world and well beyond.
On the corporate side, this includes advising on: M&As, restructuring, pensions strategy, funding, de-risking and consolidation. On the trustee side, this includes:providing full-services to a number of trustee clients, independently reviewing a challenging funding valuation and being seconded to a major UK scheme to manage its closure for c. 30,000 active members. On the “random side”, this includes: working in the Netherlands as the “numbers guy” helping redesign the org structure ofa major multinational and also helping move $50bn of derivatives over the Irish sea.
My latest and possibly biggest challenge has been leading Deloitte’s GMP Equalisation team and helping our clients start to overcome the many challenges that this brings.
My career highlights include working with some truly fantastic teams, clients and other advisers and seeing not only great outcomes but also having great fun together and seeing people’s careers really develop.
Outside of work, I love travelling and exploring the world. I love a good view from the top of a mountain, but I’m definitely the kind of person to drive to the top, rather than hike up. Next up is a road trip in the US including some of Route 66, the Grand Canyon and San Diego (followed by the M25 backhome…).
