I have been working in the pensions industry for 18 years, beginning as a traditional pensions actuary, before moving through the ranks in a consultancy environment and into leadership roles, and today where I am Head of the GB corporate pensions consulting business at Willis Towers Watson.
After working on a mix of trustee and corporate clients, including holding some scheme actuary roles, I found it was the opportunities on the corporate consultancy side that I relished the most. Working with sponsors gave me the chance to make a real difference to businesses and their employees, as well as the chance to advise on formulating proposals and solutions in some of the most challenging situations. Some of the highlights include advising on some high profile M&As and developing some innovative ideas in the early days of the new scheme funding regime.
Travel, food (I mean of the tasting menu type, rather than cooking myself!) and wine, but also keeping fit with walking, hiking and running.
A Quote from a client:
“Bina is smart, fun and tough – all the qualities I would want from my corporate pensions adviser”.
