I am Head of Products in Hymans Robertson’s Life and Financial Services team which gives me the opportunity to work with our clients on their product development and customer related projects. In line with our firm’s goal of helping to create better futures for all, I am always keen to ensure that protection and long term savings products provide good outcomes for customers as well as creative and profitable products for our clients.
In this very different year, involving a lot less travel (for both business and leisure), I have still been able to keep in touch regularly with clients, helping insurers to respond to their customers’ needs. Virtual client meetings have allowed me to share lots of new ideas in an environment that thrives on innovative solutions such as our retirement planning tools which incorporate our Club Vita longevity statistics.
My actuarial knowledge has been broadened further by joining the IFoA’s Life Board and I now have the honour of chairing this impressive group of life actuaries. After a quarter of a century in the profession, I can say that my learning has certainly not stopped.
In my non-actuarial role as an amateur vinologist, I have unfortunately not been able to visit any vineyards recently. However, my learning has also not stopped in this area and I have continued to keep up my knowledge of this important subject with regular samplings from around the world.
